The critical edition of the Tanjur was compiled in Peking and published by the China Tibetology Publishing House.

The edition brings together the major Tibetan editions from Cone, Derge, Narthang, Peking and Lhasa

The Tenjur was published in 124 western style volumes, including 4 volumes index and register starting 1995. The register volumes have only be published in 2009.
