D. Karamshoev: Russian-Shughni Dictionary – Vol. 4

Shughni is the biggest of the Pamir-languages (<100.000). Today Shughni is spoken in Tajikistan and Afghanistan.

Volume 4 is the completion of the Shughni-Russian Dictionary (vol.1 1988, vol.2 1991, vol. 1999 – about 30.000 words) by Dodxudo Karamshoev (1932-2006). On 280 pages it comprises about 13.000 russian words and their Shughni counterparts.

Up to now this unique dictionary is rare to be found in libraries of the west. Volume 1 and 2 are already out of print. Volume 3 (letters T-?) may be ordered as well as volume 4, which is so far not available outside of Tajikistan.
